Storyteller
The focus of this St. Paul duplex renovation was two-fold: give the third story an attractive and enduring new exterior while retooling the unfinished attic for spacious modern living.
On the outside, concrete board siding, a metal roof and a deconstructed entry and staircase meld into a coherent whole. In the third-story attic, two dormers were added to make room for a kitchen, a bath, and dining area. The new attic apartment was finished with exposed trusses and plywood, translucent polycarbonate panels and whimsical touches that reflect the client's lively tastes.
